Nubian goats are pregnant for about 150 days, the same as other full-size dairy breeds, with most does kidding between day 145 and day 155. The Nubian (also called Anglo-Nubian) is the large dairy goat with long, drooping ears and a Roman nose, and it is known for milk that is rich in butterfat and for being a very vocal breed.
Because many Nubians are milked through pregnancy, the key date after breeding is often dry-off: most breeders stop milking about 2 months before kidding so the doe can put her energy into the kids and the next lactation. The calculator adds that date to the timeline.
Nubians have warm-climate ancestry and often have a longer breeding season than Swiss dairy breeds such as Alpines and Saanens, though most still cycle most strongly in fall. Twins are typical, triplets are common, and kids are usually about 6–9 lb at birth.
