About HerdMath

HerdMath is a set of free, fast calculators for people raising animals on homesteads and small farms.

Why we built it

Most farm calculators online are old PDFs, spreadsheets or pages that cover one species and don't work on a phone. HerdMath puts the everyday numbers in one place: due dates, hatch dates, hay, feed, space and weight. It works in the barn with one hand.

Where the numbers come from

Gestation lengths, intake rates, space guidelines and yield percentages are typical values from university extension services and breed associations. Every page explains the formula it uses, so you can check it.

Who runs HerdMath

HerdMath is built and maintained by Jawad, who has a degree in IT and builds the calculators from published university extension figures. He is not a veterinarian, so the numbers are planning averages, not veterinary advice. Every figure we use is listed on the sources and method page. Questions, corrections and suggestions go to hello@herdmath.com.
