How to use this chart
Find the month the sow was bred in, then her breeding date in the left column. The date beside it is the expected farrowing date at 114 days. For a group bred on pasture, look up both the day the male went in and the day he came out: the farrowing window runs between those two dates.
The chart is a fixed 114-day count. If you want the date adjusted for your breed, plus the checks worth doing along the way, use the Pig Gestation Calculator, which also sends the dates to your phone's calendar.
Frequently asked questions
What is the 114-day swine gestation table?
It converts a breeding date into a farrowing date using the standard 114-day pregnancy, the 3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days rule.
How accurate is the 114-day rule?
Very. Most sows farrow between day 111 and day 117, and commercial herds plan tightly around day 114.
When should the sow move to the farrowing pen?
About a week before the date on the chart, so she can settle and build a nest.
Does the table work for Kunekune and pot-bellied pigs?
Yes. Kunekune sows often go a day or two past the chart date; pot-bellied pigs are close to 114.
