Why rabbits are different: induced ovulation
Unlike goats, cattle or sheep, rabbits don't cycle through regular heats. A doe is an induced ovulator: the act of mating itself triggers her body to release eggs, usually within about 10 hours. That's why breeders can often get a doe bred on the day she's introduced to a buck, without watching for heat signs first.
